This series consists of the records of the deans of LIM College, the Library, and the office of Faculty Development. The majority of the dean’s records consist of correspondence. The correspondence of many of the early deans is of note because of the personal relationships seen through them. The library material consists of brochures, events material, and bookmarks produced for or by the library.

Abstract This series contains several sub-series. Sub-series I contains general correspondence with LIM College. This correspondence is mainly from parents and students. Sub-series II* contains information related to the founding of the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising. Early information was most likely gathered or created by Maxwell Marcuse. This series contains materials on the admissions process at LIM College. Types of materials included are correspondence, college catalogs, brochures, recruiting materials, and student applications. Photos of the applicant are included with many of the applications. Please note that applications dated after 1943* are restricted in accordance to FERPA laws (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).

Series I contains materials on Alexandra Potts’ company. The types of material in this series are resumes, correspondence, press releases, newspaper clippings, lists, and photographs.
